Drifting past lush riverbanks as the desert stretches to the horizon, you visit Edfu, Kom Ombo, and Aswan's Philae Temple, culminating in a dramatic day trip to the colossal Abu Simbel. Your Itinerary
Arrival in Cairo
Arrival in Cairo, welcome at Cairo International Airport. Transfer to your hotel. Dinner at leisure. Overnight at your hotel in Cairo.
Cairo
After breakfast, departure to visit the Necropolis of Saqqara: the famous Step Pyramid of King Djoser, the royal funerary pyramids, the funerary texts, the mastabas… Lunch during the visits. In the afternoon, visit to the Giza Plateau: the Pyramids and the Sphinx. Return to the hotel. In the evening, you can enjoy the "Sound and Light" show at the Pyramids (optional). Dinner at leisure. Overnight at your hotel in Cairo.
Cairo / Luxor
After breakfast, departure to visit the GEM — Grand Egyptian Museum of Antiquities: the treasure of Tutankhamun, the Solar Boat and the various halls of Egyptian monuments. Lunch during the visits. In the afternoon, visit to the Mohammed Ali Mosque within the Citadel of Saladin and discovery of the covered souks of Khan El Khalili. Transfer to the train station, departure aboard the Cairo / Luxor sleeper train in half board. Dinner and overnight on board the train.
Luxor / Nile Cruise
After breakfast, arrival in Luxor, welcome at the train station. In the morning, visit to the impressive Karnak Temple complex. Then visit to Luxor Temple. Transfer and boarding of your Nile cruise ship. Lunch on board. Free afternoon on board the ship. In the evening, you can enjoy the "Sound and Light" show at the Karnak temples (optional). Dinner and overnight on board.
Luxor / Esna / Edfu
Breakfast on board, departure to visit the temples of the Theban Necropolis: the Valley of the Kings, and the terraced Temple of Deir El Bahari (temple dedicated to Hatshepsut). Stop at the Colossi of Memnon, witness to the grandeur of King Amenhotep III. Return to the ship. Lunch on board. Then sail towards Esna for the lock passage. Sail towards Edfu. Dinner and overnight on board.
Edfu / Kom Ombo / Aswan
In the morning, Edfu: visit to the Temple dedicated to the falcon-headed god Horus. Then sail towards Kom Ombo. Lunch on board. In the late afternoon, visit to the illuminated Temple of Kom Ombo dedicated to the gods Haroeris and Sobek. Sail towards Aswan in the evening. Dinner and overnight on board. Arrival in Aswan during the night.
Aswan
Early morning: optional visit to Abu Simbel: visit the grand temples of Ramesses II and his wife Nefertari, built facing the Nile. Return to the ship. Lunch on board. Departure for a boat ride to the Temple of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis, and visit of the site. In the afternoon, a pleasant felucca ride around Elephantine Island. In the evening, you can enjoy the "Sound and Light" show at Philae (optional). Dinner and overnight on board.
Aswan / Cairo
After breakfast, disembarkation from the ship in Aswan. Optional visit to the Nubian Museum and discovery of the souk (optional). Lunch at leisure. At the end of the day, transfer to the train station, departure aboard the Aswan / Cairo sleeper train in half board. Dinner and overnight on board the train.
Cairo
After breakfast, arrival in Cairo, welcome at the train station. Transfer to the hotel. Free day in Cairo. Dinner at leisure. Overnight at your hotel in Cairo.
Cairo / Final Departure
Breakfast included. Depending on flight schedule, transfer to the airport, flight back home.
