A compact, complete introduction to Egypt: two days exploring Cairo's pyramids and museums, an overnight sleeper train south to Aswan, then a private Nile cruise ship carrying you north through Kom Ombo and Edfu to Luxor's great temples, before a final sleeper train back to Cairo.

Your Itinerary
Cairo — Arrival
Arrival in Cairo, welcome at Cairo Airport. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Cairo.
Cairo / Aswan — Saqqara, Giza & Sleeper Train
After breakfast, departure for the visit of the Saqqara Necropolis: the famous Step Pyramid of King Djoser, the royal pyramids, the funerary texts, the mastabas… Lunch at a restaurant included. In the afternoon, visit of the Giza Plateau: the Pyramids and the Sphinx. Transfer to the train station, departure by the Sleeper Train Wagon-Lits Cairo / Aswan, half board. Dinner and overnight on board the train. There is the possibility of making the Cairo/Aswan journey by domestic flight, with a price supplement.
Aswan / Nile Cruise — Philae Temple
After breakfast, arrival in Aswan, welcome at the station. Boat ride to the Temple of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis, and visit of the site. Transfer and embarkation on the Nile cruise ship. Lunch on board. In the afternoon, a pleasant felucca ride around Elephantine Island and visit of the Botanical Gardens. Dinner and overnight on board.
Aswan / Kom Ombo — Abu Simbel
Early morning, departure by private van for the visit of Abu Simbel: visit of the grandiose temples of Ramesses II and his wife Nefertari, built facing the Nile. Lunch on board. Navigation to Kom Ombo. Visit of the illuminated Temple of Kom Ombo dedicated to the gods Haroeris and Sobek. Navigation to Edfu. Dinner and overnight on board.
Edfu / Esna / Luxor — Karnak & Luxor Temple
Breakfast on board; visit of the Temple dedicated to the falcon-headed god Horus at Edfu. Navigation to Esna for the lock passage. Continuation of navigation to Luxor. Lunch on board. Arrival in Luxor in the afternoon. Visit of the impressive Karnak Temple. Then visit of the Luxor Temple. In the evening, "Sound and Light" show at the Karnak temples (optional). Dinner and overnight on board.
Luxor / Cairo — West Bank & Sleeper Train
After breakfast, disembarkation from the ship in Luxor. In the morning, departure for the visit of the temples of the Theban necropolis: the Valley of the Kings, the terraced Temple of Deir El Bahari, stopping at the Colossi of Memnon, witness to the grandeur of King Amenhotep III. Lunch at a restaurant included. At the end of the day, transfer to the train station, departure by the Sleeper Train Wagon-Lits Luxor / Cairo, half board. Dinner and overnight on board the train. There is the possibility of making the Luxor/Cairo journey by domestic flight, with a price supplement.
Cairo — GEM, Citadel & Khan El Khalili
Breakfast, arrival by sleeper train in Cairo, welcome at the station. Departure for the visit of the GEM: the Grand Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, the treasures of Tutankhamun, the Solar Boat and the monument halls. Lunch at a restaurant included. In the afternoon, visit of the Mohamed Ali Mosque within the Saladin Citadel and discovery of the Khan El Khalili Souk. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Cairo.
Cairo — Final Departure
Breakfast. Depending on flight schedule, transfer to the airport, flight back home. According to local requirements, the order of visits may be modified, but they will always take place in full.
